Overview
CrowdOpinio is a comment intelligence tool. We take privacy seriously and collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
- IP address — Used for rate limiting (counting analyses for anonymous users). Not linked to any personal profile.
- Email address — If you sign up, your email is stored to manage your account and track your daily usage. Not used for marketing.
- URLs you submit — Used to fetch and analyse comments. Cached for 24 hours so repeat requests are instant. Not stored permanently.
- Contact form submissions — If you contact us, we receive your name, email, and message. Used only to respond to you.
- Tip email — If you verify a tip, your email is stored to confirm supporter status. Not used for marketing.
What we do not collect
- No cookies or tracking pixels (beyond Supabase auth session)
- No passwords — we use magic links only
- No browsing history
- No advertising or remarketing data
- No selling of data to third parties — ever
Third-party services
CrowdOpinio uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Cloud hosting provider — Hosting and edge network
- Authentication provider — User account management (email + magic link sign-in)
- Cache provider — Caching analysis results and rate limiting
- AI provider — AI analysis — comments are sent for processing and not retained
- Email provider — Contact form emails
- YouTube (Google) — Source data via the YouTube Data API v3
Comments fetched from YouTube are sent to our AI provider for processing and are not retained after analysis.
Data retention
- Analysis results — cached for 24 hours, then deleted automatically
- IP run counters — stored for rate limiting anonymous users, not linked to any identity
- Account email — stored for as long as your account exists; delete any time via the contact page
- Daily usage counters — stored in Redis, expire after 25 hours
- Tipper email — stored for up to 1 year to confirm supporter status
- Contact form messages — retained only as long as needed to respond
Your rights
If you are in the EU (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have the right to request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. If you have an account, you can request deletion at any time via the contact page and we will remove your data. If you have concerns, get in touch.
