Overview
CrowdOpinio is a YouTube comment intelligence tool. We take privacy seriously and collect as little data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
What we collect
- IP address — Used for rate limiting. Not linked to any personal profile.
- Email address — If you sign up, your email is stored to manage your account and to email you when your Deep Scan report is ready. Not used for marketing.
- Channel URLs and video selections — The channels you analyze and videos you select are processed to generate your report and stored with your account so you can revisit them from your dashboard.
- Credit balance and purchase history — When you buy credits, we record the transaction and your current balance. Payment details are handled entirely by our payment provider — we never see your card number.
- Contact form submissions — If you contact us, we receive your name, email, and message. Used only to respond to you.
What we do not collect
- No cookies or tracking pixels (beyond Supabase auth session)
- No passwords — sign in with Google or a magic link
- No browsing history
- No advertising or remarketing data
- No selling of data to third parties — ever
Third-party services
CrowdOpinio uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Cloud hosting provider — Hosting and edge network
- Authentication provider — User account management (Google sign-in and magic links)
- Payment provider — Credit purchases — we never see your card details
- AI provider — AI analysis — comments are sent for processing and not retained after the report is generated
- Email provider — Report delivery and contact form emails
- YouTube (Google) — Source data via the YouTube Data API v3
YouTube API Services
CrowdOpinio uses YouTube API Services to fetch publicly available data. By using CrowdOpinio you are agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
We access public data only — video metadata and public comments — using a server-side API key. We never ask you to connect your YouTube account, we request no Google permissions, and we cannot see your private data, subscriptions, watch history, or YouTube Studio analytics. There is no access for you to revoke, because none was ever granted.
Comments we fetch are public. We use them to generate your report and we do not sell or redistribute them.
Data retention
- Deep Scan reports — stored in your dashboard until you delete them. Reports are mostly AI-generated analysis, plus a small number of verbatim public comment excerpts kept as evidence for the findings
- Credit balance and purchase records — stored for as long as your account exists
- Account email — stored for as long as your account exists; delete any time via the contact page
- IP rate-limit counters — not linked to any identity; expire automatically
- Contact form messages — retained only as long as needed to respond
Your rights
If you are in the EU (GDPR) or California (CCPA), you have the right to request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. If you have an account, you can request deletion at any time via the contact page and we will remove your data. If you have concerns, get in touch.
